BREAKING NEWS: Bill Cosby To Throw Opening Pitch at Honey Hunters Game

BREAKING NEWS: Former comedian and actor Bill Cosby will throw the first pitch at next week's Gastonia Honey Hunters baseball game.

Bill Cosby's sex assault conviction will be overturned and the 83-year-old former comedian will be released from prison after the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court issued an opinion to vacate his conviction Wednesday.

Pennsylvania's courts have overturned the conviction after discovering an agreement with a previous prosecutor prevented Cosby from being charged in the case. This new ruling bars any retrial in the case, court documents say.

GNN insiders have now discovered that after his release from prison, Bill Cosby will make his way to the Gastonia Honey Hunters stadium to throw the opening pitch against the Lexington Legends.

Many Gastonia residents recall a time in the late 1980’s when Cosby would frequent Jackson’s Cafeteria, Robinwood Lake, and Sears.

We caught up with former Jackson’s Cafeteria manager, Bobby Williams and asked him about his experiences with Cosby. Williams stated, “He came in here a lot back in the day. He would always be real nice, especially to my girlfriend who worked the register”.

“To be frank with you, I always was a little apprehensive about him being here. Just creeped me out.” Williams continued.

GNN was also able to catch up with Erin Tomberlin, Event Planner for the organization, to ask... why Cosby?

“We really want to keep this place attractive to new guests, so we bring people in that can help make that happen. Magic Johnson was a hit, we have Fred Durst coming in a couple of months, so we feel like Cosby would also be a great choice.” Stated Tomberlin

“We will be placing lids on all drinks at our bar area for this date.” She continued.

Gastonia News Now has also learned that all guests will receive one free Jello Pudding Pop as part of the celebration.
