It was reported that two days ago, the band Nickelback were shooting their latest music video in Gastonia.
At the location of the former Carolina National Bank, located at 333 E. Garrison Blvd., a 40 person crew worked tirelessly on a video for the band’s new single “Hold My Beer”.
Frontman Chad Kroeger had this to say,
“Yeah, I’ve been here once or twice. Once when we were on the road to Charlotte for a concert at another time when I dated a chick who worked at Leather N Lace named Jewelz”
Kroeger went on to say, ”We just felt like this place would be a good fit. The scenery of Gastonia and the smell paired perfectly with our new song”.
They tried to keep it as secret as possible, and small, considering COVID restrictions, but that didn’t stop some die-hard Gastonia fans from noticing and obtaining autographs.
James Hunt, a local Gastonia man, said “If Gastonia was a band, they’d be Nickleback”. He went on to say, “As far as Rock music goes, they lead the way. So I’m really glad my moped broke down in front of their shoot. It’s been a dream come true”.
Following the 12 hour shoot, the band made its way over to Arby’s for some classic roast beef sandwiches and curly fries. Kroeger was then spotted again later on by fans at Harris Teeter.
The band’s new album “Reckless” will release this fall.
